Tamara Karsavina in “Firebird” Ballet, porcelain statuette, Lomonosov, Russia, 1921. Painted in lemon yellow, coral, turquoise and green, finely etched gold accents, after a design by Ivanov, depicting the ballerina dressed in stage costume for the performance of Stravinsky’s Firebird. Marked with the Lomonosov Factory, Saint Petersburg and dated 1921. Marked in cyrillic with the designer name D.Ivanov.

Dimensions: height 22 cm, diameter 5 cm

Tamara Karsavina was a famous Russian ballerina, renowned for her beauty, who was most noted as a Principal Artist of the Imperial Russian Ballet and later the Ballets Russes of Serge Diaghilev.
