OSTA

OSTA (important french street artist)
Acrylic on canvas. 116 x 89 cm.
Signed and dated lower left.
The French RED OSTA is one of the 72 world street artists, chosen to realize for the first time in the history of graffiti art, a magnificent happening – The TAG & Graffiti, 2010, in Paris, implemented by L. Dumas and A.D Galizzia at Musée à ciel ouvert.
An entire building was covered in black canvas and the works realized were hanged by climbers on over 300 linear metters of art rails, then were submitted to sell by Artcurial in the Sale Benefiting to “Paris Tout P’tits”.
OSTA belongs to the second generation of graffiti artists. Born in Paris, 1978, he made his first steps in TAG together with BRUCE in 1992.

In 2003 they were interviewed among another one hundred fifty people, in the biggest known trial for damaging public property (graffiti in public spaces).
Nowadays, OSTA is using the talent he developed in the street, but in the framework of the painting. His paintings reflect the state of mind that he preached through his graffiti, he had several exhibitions like Urban Forbidden Objects at Galerie HORIZONS, La Street sur le Gâteau at Art for Style or M74, single or in crew.

In 2011 the cartoon is completely revisited by the street artist under a multitude of messages, symbols, tags … Despite the limited space offered by his canvases compared to the street, he express loud and clear his artistic cry over them.
Few pictures from the group exhibition La Street sur le Gâteau at Art for Style.
Behind this original name are hiding the artists Bruce, Nassyo, Formel and Osta, who revisit the cartoons made in Street and make the Pink Panther, Mickey Mouse, Pacman – and all the characters of our childhood – the heroes of their webs .
